We had been planning for months to get in to check out the new Vegetarian restaurant,
Ubuntu in downtown
Napa, so we finally had our opportunity. We didn't have time for yoga sadly.

Beautiful presentation of the baguette!
Hickory smoked local grits with BBQ Brussels sprouts, crunchy apple, and lemon and parsley salad with fennel strands. Perfect creaminess and texture for the grits. Nice honey BBQ sauce that complemented the smoked flavor of the grits and best preparation of Brussels sprouts I have had in a long time.

Gratin of Homemade
Gnocchetti with
Point Reyes cheeses. Excellent dish with just the right amount of cheese to not overwhelm the subtle potato flavor of the
miniature gnocchi pasta's.

Rustic
Rancho Gordo ‘Yellow Eye’ Bean Soup with torn bread in a rosemary, chili, and tomato broth. Classic bean soup taken to the next level. The flavors were spot on in this one. Overall, I would
definitely put
Ubuntu on your "Must Try List" next time you stroll into downtown
Napa. The restaurant is a small plates concept, so bring a little appetite and be ready to order several different plates to feed your hunger....................and your culinary experience at the same time!
